Marios is a graduate of the English School of Nicosia, holds a degree in Accounting & Finance [First Class Honors] and holds an MSc Finance & Banking [Grade A-].

He has many years of experience in a banking institution, he has experience as head of the Accounting Department as well as in the Department of Audit and Compliance of audit firms, and has also served as head of the financial department in companies of local and foreign interests.

He is managing director of M. Shiapanis Ltd, a company that provides accounting and compliance services, as well as payroll services.

Marios is a founding member of the CPMA.
